Lausanne overview

Many argue that Swiss cities lack variety with lakes, old towns, winding streets, pockets of modernism, posing the obvious question; where’s the uniqueness? The answer is in their charisma and charm. Each city exudes an identity and magnetism through their subtle differences, and Lausanne is no exception. Resting upon the northern shores of Lake Geneva, the grand city of Lausanne is jam-packed with sparkling attractions, and radiates an unrivaled ambience. Lausanne’s Cathedral dominates the city’s skyline, perched atop Cite. Many visitors enjoy walking through this district simply for its inspiring atmosphere and marvelous architecture. However, if your legs are just not up to walking the hills (or if laziness is your number one virtue), then there are other means to view the old town’s charm. Lausanne is also home to large number of museums, which isn’t a surprise considering it is Switzerland, and the lakefront of Ouchy is certainly worth a look.
