Grindelwald overview

Grindelwald is the gateway to the awesome Eiger mountain and lies just east of Interlaken in south/central Switzerland and is about as Swiss as Swiss can be. The location of Grindelwald alone is breathtaking, while the Eiger, of Eiger Sanction fame, offers fantastic trekking and views. The village itself is a typical Swiss mountain village, with edelweiss and all-wooden lodges, and is open year-round. You can ski at Grindelwald in the winter and continue to make use of the ski lifts into the summer months for the trekking trails at Eiger and Wetterhorn. The skiing goes from beginner up to advanced and there are links to M?rren and Wengen and the beautiful Jungfrau region. Trains come in from Interlaken in about 30 minutes.
